Each Wednesday night, we gather at 6:30 p.m. in Shipps Hall to share a simple meal of soup and bread and to discuss a portion of a book that we are reading together. Unlike the Sunday School format, this group specifically focuses on writings outside of the Bible, recognizing that the Scriptures are part of a larger tradition of reflection and interpretation.
We are currently reading books that address the theme of spiritual discipline, and particularly those that are compatible with Benedictine Monasticism (Monks!). Our current book is entitled How to Become a Saint: A Beginners Guide by Jack Bernard. Whether you’ve been reading along with us or not, you’re invited to join us for the discussion of the book. Simply subscribe to our weekly newsletter to receive updates about when we’re meeting and which chapters we will be discussing that week!
