Each Wednesday night, following our 6:00 p.m. Eucharist, we gather at about 6:45 p.m. in Shipps Hall to share a simple meal of soup and bread and to discuss a portion of a book that we are reading together. Unlike the Sunday School format, this group specifically focuses on writings outside of the Bible, recognizing that the Scriptures are part of a larger tradition of reflection and interpretation.
We are currently studying the essays of Dorothy Day, the co-founder of the Catholic Worker Movement. We are reading the articles she wrote for their self-titled periodical, The Catholic Worker. Please join us to share soup and discussion. You can find all her articles for free on catholicworker.org.
